We’ve all heard it – over and over…and over – “social media is important“. Everyone has told you that your business needs social media and you have finally decided to do something about it. So you’ve got your cup of coffee, an empty Saturday, a couple of aspirin (just in case) and you’re ready to embark on your first journey in to the social media world!
Where do you start? Google of course! So you Google ‘which social media should I use?‘ and after an hour or so of research you’ve realized a few things: 1.) You’ll be needing those aspirin right about now. 2.) You now understand when that marketing guy said ‘social media’ he was not talking about Facebook alone – in fact there are hundreds of social media networking sites. 3.) And you’re now more confused than ever because you have no idea what each sites does – which platform is best and what are the differences?!
I was inspired by a recent post over at SIM Partners and have decided to whip up a short infographic to help you understand (and potentially decide) what each networking site does by incorporating a common factor: Connecticut. I still recommend doing some further research as well as understanding how to use each site as this is a very brief overview.
I hope the following diagram clears things up a bit (at least for some of the top social sites) – feel free to share and pass on! Feedback (below) greatly appreciated!
