It’s official. Earlier today, the good people over at Search Engine Land (Barry Schwartz in particular) announced that Google Panda 4.2 has begun to roll out. The SEO Community, those on Reddit, the forums etc. have all been providing the latest details regarding ranking shifts. This has been confirmed by Google.
Many SEOs, including myself, had been waiting quite some time for this update (10 months actually) and, with such a long wait, we suspected it was any day now.
According to Search Engine Land, Google said that Panda 4.2 began this weekend, but may take months to completely roll out. As with other Google Panda updates, the point of such algorithm changes is to target those with low-quality or thin content. The update will be rolling out very slowly so you won’t see results/impact overnight:
Many of you may not have noticed because this roll out is happening incredibly slowly. Google says the update can take months to fully roll out because it will slowly impact your site. The Panda algorithm is still a site-wide algorithm, but some of your web pages might not see a change immediately. – Via www.SearchEngineLand.com
